Jen & Justin
Tractors and robots and love! Oh my!!
OK so I've seen some brides get pretty creative over the years- new ways to decorate, different themes, unique favors, wild colors....but this was a first for me, tractors and robots! I honestly didn't know how it was all going to work when Jen first approached me with the idea but being open-minded is one of my better traits so we ran with her vision. And WOW! They totally made the day!
Jen and Justin are an amazing couple from Berkeley who have a love for antique tractors. After working a tractor show at the Santa Margarita Ranch a few years ago Jen always knew that the ranch had special meaning- but she never knew it was going to play such a big role in her life!
Justin is an artist, metal-fabricator-extraordinaire. His specialty? Robots- moving sculptures. Jen and Justin wanted their special day to be a true reflection of themselves. Bringing their art and their passions into the mix gave their guests a real touch point.
Jen had a clear, concise vision of what she wanted and the mood she was trying to portray- I love working with brides who have such a song sense of self, who are confident in their decisions and are willing to do things a little outside the norm.
The weather couldn't have been more ideal for an afternoon wedding in July. The guests were treated to amazing bites and signature cocktails by Trumpet Vine Catering before the ceremony got underway. Immediately following, Jen and Justin jumped on the antique traction engine and our bride got her hands dirty- literally- as she drove that tractor across the grounds to the historic barn.
The evening really heightened your awareness of all the elements. Monte Mills and his Lucky Horseshoe Band filled the barn with lovely tunes, old and new, while guests dined on roasted salmon, mac 'n cheese and organic greens by Trumpet Vine Catering and savored toffee crunch cake from Madonna Inn.
The barn was draped in bunting made of pages from antique books about flowers and pops of floral, greenery, metal and glass from Adornments Flowers were strategically placed throughout the warm space.
Guests danced, conga-lined, took a turn at the remote-controlled tractors, enjoyed the warm breeze outside the barn and sipped locally crafted Ancient Peaks wines.
It was a beautiful evening for an amazing, one-of-a-kind couple! Cheers to you Mr. & Mrs. Gray!
